General Information

EcoWisdom offers unique virtual Accessible Nature Connection Programs (ANCPs), typically in a series of 3 or 6. Each online program is 1.5 hrs long, followed by 30 minutes of optional social time. Participants are encouraged to adapt each of the invitations for nature connecting in various ways to ensure accessibility, inclusion and comfort. Choice and flexibility are central elements of the program design. The sessions are co-facilitated by a team of EcoWisdom-certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guides.

The 6 series programs, entitled “The Elements”, have themes such as water, sky, and
stone. The 3 series programs, entitled “Fostering Personal and Community Resilience through Nature Connection”, include sessions with the following themes: Resourced by Soil and Sky; Letting go with Water and Flow; and What the Forest Teaches us about Community Resilience.

Each program includes a virtual Mindful Wander on the EcoWisdom Forest Preserve, where
those participating direct a “wanderer” as they move through the forest and between trees, a beaver dam, a cool flowing river and soft moss.

These programs are designed to elicit a sense of calm and relaxation. Research on
EcoWisdom’s programs have been found to result in reduced pain, fatigue,
anxiety/depression, memory/concentration problems and perseveration. They have also
been found to generate a sense of self-acceptance, belonging and hope for the future.
Some participants also describe creative or spiritual insights.

“It helps me remember that we are all connected in some way, shape or form… We all bleed, we all hurt, we all laugh. Everybody is a whole, the entire world, we are all one.”

These shorter format programs are ideal for seniors or people living with mobility
impairments, pain, fatigue, social anxiety and/or neurodiversity.

Price is $50 per session, which comes to $125 ($25 discount) for a series of 3 or $250 for a series of 6 ($50 discount). We invite health and wellbeing practitioners, clinics and centres to reach out to us to inquire about our affiliate program: info@ecowisdom.ca.
