Testimonials from Appreciating Algonquin Nature Programs
A site-specific forest bathing program offered in partnership with Hay Lake Lodge and Cottages
“I am writing to express my appreciation for a tremendous inaugural EcoWisdom Forest Bathing Program at Hay Lake Lodge. I would HIGHLY recommend this session! Kari’s engaging and friendly manner made it easy to connect with the program content. The concepts were clearly explained and Kari did an exceptional job of providing context at every turn. She also did an excellent job inviting everyone to share what they experienced. We came away with a heightened awareness of our immediate natural surroundings and a sense of how to transfer some of that mindfulness to daily life in an urban setting. We are excited about delving further into these practices.”
“EcoWisdom’s forest bathing program involved a series of gentle invitations to connect, with ourselves, and the natural world around us. The facilitator calmly guided us with presence, intention and poetry. We were invited to use all our senses and engage with the healing energies of nature. I highly recommend EcoWisdom Forest Bathing Programs. A walk in the forest can be so much more…”

Testimonials from participants in our other programming:
I loved it! I feel moved in a significant way. I feel much better for having had this experience. I love seeing you work and always benefit from my time with you (lead facilitator).
An EcoWisdom Accessible Nature Wellness Programs is a perfect way to find relaxation and comfort. As a student, this experience was invaluable – I was able to finally catch my breath and actually feel invigorated by nature. You become part of a completely non-judgmental community and together we slow to the pace of nature and become immersed in its beauty with loving appreciation. I enjoyed my first program so much that I returned for another and I look forward to attending many more. The facilitators are kind and receptive, going above and beyond to adapt to different needs and ensure inclusivity. The EcoWisdom forest preserve is breathtaking!
I’m a regular – I attended the first EcoWisdom Virtual Nature Retreat and enjoyed it so much that I kept coming back! It’s a great way to appreciate seasonal change and nature’s many gifts. Each time I leave refreshed, more calm and so thankful for the opportunity to connect deeply to nature. I gain wisdom from the other attendees and it’s a great pleasure to see familiar and new faces. I use the practices we learn every time I go out for my walks. I look at nature differently, finding insights through introspection. As a result of the programming which teaches us about contemplative communication, I am able to bring a greater presence and respect to my interactions with others. I enjoy the quiet calm tone, the varied contributions of the facilitators, the poetry and the beautiful nature photos and videos. The Closing Tea Ceremony (held outdoors in all seasons) is a magical way to conclude our time together.
Spending dedicated time with EcoWisdom in community was a restorative and calming way to enjoy a winter’s afternoon. The invitations to meditate, breathe, notice, and experience nature (through visuals or in our own homes/ yards/ greenspaces) were well spaced and flowed effortlessly. Ending with a Cedar Tea Ceremony was wonderful too. I’ve enjoyed Forest Bathing in my local ravine before (with the same lead facilitator) and this program very much left me with the same feelings even though we did it virtually!
This EcoWisdom virtual nature immersion program was well-paced with mindfulness and connections to nature – the three hours went by quickly! I liked the format and use of nature videos. I really enjoyed hearing from other participants about their experience and appreciated the contributions made by a variety of facilitators.
The combination of nature-connection, reflection, expressive arts and sharing was effective in deepening my connection to nature, other people and myself. I appreciate having these opportunities to come together as a supportive community during these EcoWisdom nature programs.
